Car Skins
- The skin you use for each round must conform to normal LFS Rules (no porn or offensive images please).
-
The livery must contain your number in the following spots: Left and Right hand doors; driver’s side of the bonnet, in accordance with section 6.a.1. of the Rulebook
Making your own skin:
- Download the CMX Viewer from lfs.net
- Locate the skin templates in CMX Viewer/data/skins, and open with an image editing program, such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Paint.NET (freeware), or Gimp (freeware).
- Resize the image to 2048*2048 pixels (skip this step for a standard low-res skin).
- Using the effects and tools of the software, paint your design over the template. Make sure you include a square in the locations specified in the rules to put your race number on.
- Save the image as a JPEG file, and save it in LFS/data/skins. Make sure the contains the three letter car prefix. E.g. XFG_SkinName
- Upload the skin to LFS World. If you have made it in 2048*2048 resolution, resize it to 1024*1024 pixels, but save a 2048*2048 copy for personal use.
- Use in game. In the garage screen, press 'New colours' and locate your skin on the list
If you are using a public skin, made by somebody else, you must put your number on the numberboards (usually provided, and left blank for you), using image editing software (see above). If the skin has no numberboards, you must create your own (see above). Please obtain permission from the skin creator to do this.
